Advantages of LEDs

Efficiency

50 – 100 Lumens per Watt versus 15 – 20 Lumens per Watt in standard incandescent bulbs.

Low Maintenance and Long Lifespan

No bulbs to change. Nemalux products incorporate LEDs designed to maintain over 70% of original intensity after 50,000- 100,000 hours compare that compared to a fluorescent tube rated for 7,000 – 10,000 hours, or an incandescent bulb 2000 – 4000 hours. Furthermore, the LEDs will continue to function past 50,000 hours and then slowly degrade in intensity, unlike other solutions that which offer no indication that they’re about to fail.

Rugged

Because Nemalux products were designed with industry in mind, they bare carry industrial temperature ratings (-45 – +85°C). LEDs also perform in a near instant on, instant off fashion, with no warm up time required. Additionally, many Nemalux products are also available with Class I Division II certifications.

DC Powered

Solar Power is not a new concept, however, it is a rapidly emerging one. By incorporating the use of DC power, Nemalux fixtures provide a simple efficient lighting solution for solar and battery powered systems(delete comma)  with no inverter loss, and the ability to provide the same lighting conditions at up to 1/10th the power consumption. All of these advantages result in longer battery life and smaller solar packages. AC powered solutions are readily also available (period), and Nemalux always tries to incorporate the latest in high efficiency solutions. The inherent direct current of the light emitting diode reduces eye strain and also can reduce wiring cost.

Dimmable

LEDs are infinitely dimmable. The Industry Standard is to dim an LED fixture with 0-10VDC control wire. In order to create a very efficient design, integrate specific controllers to conserve more energy.

Vibration Resistant

LEDs are solid state technology and have no filaments or bulbs to break. LEDs are ideal for any application that is affected by motion or strong vibration.

Directional Light

The Coefficient of Utilization for LEDs is typically 80% where as a standard CFL can be 58%. This dynamic is application specific, but ultimately can be a significant variable.

Green Technology

LEDs contain none of the following: UV, IR, mercury, lead, gases, hot filaments.

Ideal for Solar Applications

Solar Power is becoming a standard power source around the world. Light Emitting Diodes are inherently low voltage which work very well with the standard low voltage solar panel. Converting from DC to AC power through an inverter has electrical loss associated with it. Low voltage LEDs keep the project design very efficient.

Selectable Colour Temperature: 2700K to 8000K

In some cases, a specific white color is required. Warm white is typically often used in a cabin, house or heritage design and mimics an incandescent bulb. Cool White is typically used in a commercial facility. Picking the proper white color is typically the responsibility of the lighting designer. Light Emitting Diodes can be purchased with specific lots. The lots which are within 100K to the required colour color temperature.

Low Profile

Some lighting designs and applications require the light source to be hidden from sight. The small size of the LEDs and the luminaires makes this technology fantastic appropriate for these requirements.
